Alchemy Pottery Classes - Important Information
Learn how to throw on the potter’s wheel or handbuild unique creations! Beginners will learn to make basic forms like cylinders, bowls, and mugs on the wheel or if you’re handbuilding you’ll learn to coil build a bowl, slab build a mug, explore function, texture and color. Using colored slips and glaze, inlay, texture, and carving you will learn various ways to finish your work. Students with experience will get one-on-one instruction and help in developing their own personal projects.
Included in tuition: Hands on instruction from Amy Halko, clay, use of studio materials and glazes, personal shelf space, bisque and glaze firings, all of the pots you make, invite to our end of semester pick up party.
All levels are welcome in these classes including kiddos 11 years and up.
Not included in tuition: Basic potters tool kit. You can find these online, at an art store, or purchase one through us.
Class size is limited to seven students.
** IMPORTANT !! PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING :
ALL SALES ARE FINAL. If, for any reason, you need to cancel your registration prior to class commencement, your tuition will be kept on file for use in a future class.
Cancellations within one week of class commencement, no shows, or mid-session cancellations/absences will not receive any credit, transfer options, or refund.
Once registered, if you request to transfer to a different class, there will be a $100.00 transfer fee added to your tuition. Transfer requests are subject to approval based on availability and must be made more than one week in advance of class commencement.
MISSED CLASSES / MAKE UP: Due to the high volume of students and members at our studio, we are not able to provide automatic make-up sessions for any class or time that is missed. If you would like to add or make up a missed class, there will be a $35.00 fee per class, and scheduling will be subject to availability. If you know you will be missing classes during your scheduled series, please consider registering for a different series or our flexible class passes.
Students should feel comfortable lifting a 25lb bag of clay, working with their hands, and sitting at the potters wheel for extended periods of time.

Summer “Try it out”! Pottery Class
Have you wanted to take a pottery class but aren’t sure if it’s for you? Come to the studio this summer for a special offering!
This will be a one-class (three-hour) experience on the pottery wheel. You’ll get lots of one-on-one attention to learn the basics of throwing clay. You will not keep anything you make, but you will have a good time! And if you fall in love with pottery, you’ll be able to register for any of our ongoing class series with a 10% discount to keep the experience going!
