During your time in the studio with Kory, you can look forward to experiencing the following and more depending on your class pass! 

Class 1: Introduction to Wheel Throwing

· Cutting, weighing, and wedging clay

· Centering on the wheel, setting the depth of the piece, and opening the clay

· Pulling clay to create cylindrical forms

Class 2: Introduction to Wheel Throwing

· Trimming, carving, and decorating with underglaze

· Continuing to practice throwing – if students finish trimming, carving, and under glazing early, there might be time to practice on the wheel. Anything thrown will be for practice purposes only and not kept.

Class 3: Hand-building a lidded pot

· Using clay slabs, students will learn to hand-build a lidded pot

· Measuring and cutting pieces for the body, foot, and lid

· Learning how to “slip and score” to join pieces together

· Decorating with inlay rollers, stamps, carving, and underglaze

** In between weeks 3 and 4 students’ work will go through the Bisque fire to prepare for glazing!**

Class 4: Glazing all work

· Learning to prepare all bisque work for glaze (sanding, cleaning, waxing)

· Glazing with a selection of over 30 glazes and even more glaze combinations!

** Finished work will be ready for pick up two weeks after final class**
