Join Alchemy Studio founder, Kory Sheffer, and treat yourself to a one day “retreat” into the realms of Yoga, Pottery, Creative Space, and Community Connection. Believe it or not, Yoga and Pottery share many of the same practices and philosophies, such as energetic embodiment, centering, meditation, receptivity, creativity, patience, and non-attachment. Both practices show up for us as powerful teachers and healers offering a creative outlet, stress relief, emotional processing, and complete breath and body awareness.
We will begin the day with a deeply intuitive and embodied Yoga practice. The focus during this gentle flowing practice will be on the experiential qualities that arise when breath, intention, and movement align. After about 90 minutes of movement, we’ll quietly journal, sketching ideas and inspirations for our afternoon at the pottery wheel.
After our Yoga practice concludes, we’ll take about fifteen minutes to freshen up before sitting down to a delicious seasonal vegetarian lunch together.
Our afternoon will be spent creating in the pottery studio! Kory will guide everyone through the basics of wheel throwing techniques, sharing her thoughts on how many esoteric aspects of Yoga and Alchemy can be found within the world of clay. Participants will create a minimum of three pieces and choose glaze colors for Kory to apply once they’re dried and bisque fired. Kory will also glaze fire the work and have it ready for pick up within two weeks of the retreat. This retreat is open to seven participants in order to create a safe container for creativity, expression, and bonding. No experience is required.
